Yin & Yang Yoga Workshop

11.30am – 1.30pm

In this 2 hour workshop Aaron will guide you through:

  • A dynamic, flowing & challenging Vinyasa style class which will include postures from the first 3 series of the Ashtanga Yoga method (Primary, Intermediate and Advanced A series) 
     
  • We will move through standing asanas, forward bends, side bends, twists, backbends, arm balances and inversions in a well planned specific manner.
     
  • Then we will transition into our Yin style practice and specifically target the hips & shoulders, two common areas of the body that are often tight or painful in people.
     
  •  To finish we practice pranayama and meditation.

Beginners Courses

Course Dates

Brand new ashtanga yoga beginners courses starting in February 2018

 

 

 

In this course you will cover in depth:

  • the Surya Namaskaras (sun salutations) 
  •  the Vinyasa method of breathing and moving together
  • the full standing sequence of postures
  • the initial poses of the primary series (yoga chikitsa) 
  • the correct breathing we use to help focus your mind
  • a background of Ashtanga yoga and helpful tips to maintain a committed yoga practice. 

By the end of this course you will be confident and comfortable to continue with your newly developed yoga practice in the Mysore style classes.

Backbending Workshop with Stacey Craven

SUNDAY 23RD JULY 11.30AM – 1.30PM / $35

This workshop is for all level of practitioner.  Backbends are challenging for everyone, beginner to advanced, flexible and stiff alike.  

In this workshop we will look at various restrictions that may be preventing you from achieving ease in backbending. We will explore ways to open the body and overcome these restrictions.  Moving through a variety of asanas leading towards freedom in urdhva dhanurasana and beyond.

As well as the challenges of the physical body we will discuss techniques to address challenges of the emotional body — that is the fear that arises when you bend over backwards!

Introducing the July Challenge

Practice 23 or more times at the studio for the month of July.

In Ashtanga Yoga we practice daily meaning one rest day per week and no practice on full moon and new moon days.

Commit to the practice 'daily' for the month of July! 

I wholeheartedly encourage regular practitioners who are currently practicing 2, 3 or 4 times a week to step up to this challenge and reap the benefits of adopting a 'daily' practice.

This is also an excellent opportunity for beginners to Ashtanga Yoga to commit to this July challenge and learn the practice step by step. You'll be supported and guided in  each class and by the end of the month you will have the wonderful gift of Ashtanga Yoga in your life! 

All you need to do to participate is sign up and practice. We'll have a sticker board at the studio to keep count and add motivation.

Everyone who signs up and successfully completes the challenge will receive 15% of their next monthly pass.
